In this role, the candidate Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive automated testing strategy for our web based software applications using Selenium/Selenium Grid.
• Execute upon the automation strategy working with distributed teams in an Agile environment.
• Setup/configure/maintain automated testing environments in a continuous integration setting using Jenkins.
• Present progress and results of automated testing efforts to appropriate leadership teams.
• Provide complete automated testing coverage for areas of responsibility.
• Review business and functional requirements documents in order to create appropriate test documentation.
• Develop test documentation, execute tests, and monitor results using HP ALM.
• Transform manual test documentation into robust, efficient automated test scripts using TestNG framework.
• Work closely with SQA, Product Managers and development engineers to ensure automation is providing appropriate functional test coverage.
• Participate in appropriate automated testing discussions and efforts in order to develop and maintain best practices within the automation and testing communities within the organization.
• Provide coaching and mentoring on automated testing to other engineers.
• Continuously improve upon the productivity and efficiency of our automated testing efforts using innovative tools and techniques.
• Stay current on modern technologies and evangelize future adoption of next-generation automation tools and best practices as appropriate.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or other related discipline with direct involvement in automated testing of web applications.
• Must have 5+ years of experience with Java, JDBC, SoapUI and Selenium including the development of automation frameworks like TestNG/JUnit.
• Experience with Soap and REST API testing and Junit testing.
• Experience with scripting languages like Groovy.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong background in functional testing and software quality best practices.
• Experience with leading automation efforts on complex web applications.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as a team member.
• Strong understanding of Java, and n-tier web technologies.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum software development environment preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle and NoSQL databases desirable.
• Knowledge of Protractor and Rest Assured API automation desirable.
• Highly motivated, well organized, capable of developing and executing upon a project plan, and able to communicate status effectively.
