Description

"Kronos is looking for an experienced, hands-on software engineer to join our team in Lowell, MA. You will play a key role in the development of our next generation SaaS offering, in a highly collaborative, agile environment. The role requires great team player with strong Java skills.

Join our development team and make an immediate impact on our fast moving, customer centric web applications. The right Senior Java Engineer will have experience with various object oriented programming languages and be able to work with both front end technologies as well as implement server side logic. The Senior Java Engineer needs to be able to think strategically and operate tactically to be able to deliver on the technical vision of the company.


You will collaborate closely with other members of your scrum team, while designing and implementing sound solutions to your product owner’s use cases. Contribute to the definition, elaboration, and execution of your team’s epics and stories. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code as a contributing member of the team. You should have an affinity for, and the ability to, influence and mentor more junior developers in an effort to continuously improve the tools, skills, and processes of the team.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

The following core skills are required for success in this position:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering
•8+ years of hands-on development experience
•3+ years working within a truly agile development team
•Significant experience in Java, Skilled at object-oriented analysis and design
• Full stack java based web development: SQL, Java, J2EE, MVC, HTML, EJB, XML, AJAX, application servers and web servers.
• Strong SQL skills – including Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers
• Experience developing software solutions for Payroll and Tax management applications.
• Working knowledge of US payroll and tax regulations and employee and employer level tax forms including W-2, W-4, 1099 and 940.
•Database design and optimization skills
•Test-driven development experience
•Good communication skills
•Track record of delivering high quality software on time

The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and experience:
•Experience building software in a continuous integration environment
•Experience in SaaS/Cloud application development, including an understanding of security concerns and multi-tenancy.
•Experience developing and deploying SaaS applications and services into production.

• Web/cloud-based distributed multi-tier application development using SOAP and RESTful web services
