Description

"Kronos is looking for a passionate developer with high volume web application experience to join our team in our Branchburg, NJ or Lowell, MA office. Join our development team and make an immediate impact on our fast moving, customer centric web applications. The right Senior Front End Engineer will have significant experience working with Javascript and building complex front end User Interfaces. They need to be able to think strategically and operate tactically to be able to deliver on the technical vision of the company.

• With wide-ranging experience, use professional concepts in line with company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
• Has an excellent understanding of programming and testing concepts, design patterns, and best practices, and is able translate that understanding directly to implementations.
• Has a deep knowledge and stays on the forefront of all development languages and frameworks utilized by our applications (Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML/CSS, etc.).
• Ability to work with UX team and translate designs into implementation
• Able to work autonomously on complex issues where analysis of use cases, situations or data requires an in‑depth evaluation of various factors and involves investigating issues and code execution, potentially, across all levels of the application stack, from database to browser, including external libraries.
• Demonstrates a well-defined knowledge of design patterns and common algorithms and exercises them in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Has the ability to mentor the junior developers on the team.
• Quickly and efficiently find robust and effective solutions to difficult development problems.
• Perform insightful and constructive code reviews to help maintain and teach proper coding techniques and ensure that your fellow developers are considering all pertinent factors in order to prevent regression defects or the introduction of problematic code.
• Commonly recommends new technologies, methodologies and practices to increase the department’s productivity and better the department’s applications.
• Communicates effectively with other departments in order to effectively gather information required to perform duties.
• Able to independently perform day to day activities with no instruction, using proper judgment to determine when to involve stakeholders with decisions regarding the overall function or direction of a given feature or application scenario.
• Be able to quickly resolve very difficult issues through analysis of the application code, 3rd party libraries, customer use cases, and discussion with stakeholders.
• Suggest methods and technologies to improve our applications and development practices.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years direct industry experience
• Strong Javascript skills required
• Experience building applications for web and mobile (preferably – hybrid mobile apps)
• Experience building UI for REST back end
• Experience with ES6
• Experience with build tools like Grunt/Gulp
• Experience with ReactJS or similar frameworks a plus
• Basic understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience working the UX team to take designs and implement them
• Familiar with Agile development methodologies
• Version control systems and methodologies (Git preferred)
