UKG Cloud Network team is seeking a Cloud Network Automation Engineer with real-world automation and public cloud experience to join our SaaS delivery team, supporting our private and public cloud solutions. As our products grow, we are continually enhancing our cloud-based infrastructure to scale and improve our services’ performance, scalability, and reliability. In this exciting and dynamic role, you will help design, improve and support the networking systems for our public and private cloud environments. With the tremendous growth we are experiencing, UKG is looking for individuals who come together with teammates to share knowledge and skills across the global organization. The candidate will have a deep passion for evolving processes and technologies, strive to innovate, have an “automate everything” mindset and will be relentless in their pursuit of a flawless customer experience.
Requirements:
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of Public Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, AZURE) and associated networking technologies (VPCs, Shared VPC, Load Balancing, etc.)
• Experience working on projects with a cross-functional team of experts to create best-practice public-cloud networking environments at scale
• Exposure to containerized and serverless technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE) and their designs, implementation, and ongoing support
• Proven familiarity and experience with automation, orchestration and Infrastructure As Code technologies
• Experience in the design, deployment and Continuous Improvement of scalable and highly available public and private cloud network designs
• Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network-specific events
• Develop automated tools and methods to detect, mitigate and remediate network events
• Participate in on-call rotation and handle escalations in fast-paced environment
• Provide user support, incident responses, and postmortems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5-8+ years of proven and real-world experience/knowledge of networking concepts; switches, routers, firewalls, as well as protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, OSPF and BGP
• Experience working with orchestration/configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
• Experience using programming languages such as Python for automation of network tasks
• Familiarity with Infrastructure As Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Google Cloud Deployment Manager
• Experience in Linux/Unix command line and command line tools
• Strong skills in problem solving and communication
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Personal commitment to quality
• Experience in automating routine tasks; identifying areas for Continuous Improvement
• Google Cloud Certification preferred, but not essential
