Software Engineer III, Kronos Incorporated, Irvine, CA

Will serve as a member of a Development team and assist in the development of fast moving, customer centric web applications. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Using professional software development concepts in line with company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative
and effective ways.
• Using programming and testing concepts, design patterns, and best practices, to complete application implementations.
• Working with design patterns and common algorithms in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Quickly and efficiently finding robust and effective solutions to difficult software development problems.
• Performing insightful and constructive code reviews to help maintain and teach proper coding techniques and ensuring that your fellow developers are considering all pertinent factors in order to prevent regression defects or the introduction of problematic code.
• Recommending new technologies, methodologies and practices to increase the Engineering Department’s productivity and better the Department’s applications.
• Communicating effectively with other Departments in order to effectively gather information required to perform duties.
• Quickly resolving very difficult technical issues through analysis of the application code, 3rd party libraries, customer use cases, and discussion with stakeholders.
• Suggesting methods and technologies to improve our software applications and development practices.



This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field and 5 of experience as a Software Developer. This experience must include at least 3 years of experience working with: (i) full stack java-based web development including SQL (Sybase, SqlServer), Java, J2EE, Webservices (REST/SOAP), Spring MVC, Hibernate, JavaScript and CSS, (ii) Java and Javascript testing frameworks (Junit, Mockito, Selenium) (iii) Scaling applications using Apache Spark, Terracota (iv) Performance tuning in a multithreaded environment using Dynatrace, JProfile and, JMeter (v) build, continuous integration and bug tracking tools (Ant, Maven, Git, Stash, Jira).
