Kronos is looking for an experienced, hands-on, embedded software engineer for one of our team’s in Lowell, MA. This person will play a key role in the development of our next generation timeclock offering, in a highly collaborative, agile environment. The role requires a passionate, great team player with strong C/C++ skills.
•With wide-ranging experience, use professional concepts in line with company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
•Has an excellent understanding of programming and testing concepts, design patterns, and best practices, and is able translate that understanding directly to implementations.
•Has a deep knowledge and stays on the forefront of all development languages and frameworks utilized by our applications (C, C++, Java, , etc.).
•Able to work autonomously on complex issues where analysis of use cases, situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors and involves investigating issues and code execution, potentially, across all levels of the application stack, from database to browser, including external libraries.
•Demonstrates a well-defined knowledge of design patterns and common algorithms and exercises them in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
•Quickly and efficiently find robust and effective solutions to difficult development problems.
•Perform insightful and constructive code reviews to help maintain and teach proper coding techniques and ensure that your fellow developers are considering all pertinent factors in order to prevent regression defects or the introduction of problematic code.
•Commonly recommends new technologies, methodologies and practices to increase the department’s productivity and better the department’s applications.
•Suggest methods and technologies to improve our applications and development practices.


• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent in a technical/scientific field
• 3-5 years of relevant software product development experience
• Expert in Embedded C, C++ software development
• Solid understanding of embedded software including I2C, SPI, and interrupts
• Experience with Real Time Operating Systems such as Free RTOS
• Experience with developing and debugging software on embedded processors
utilizing JTAG
• Strong development practices including design and code reviews, testing and
regression, design and user documentation
• Demonstrated ability to design, prototype and productize embedded devices

• Experience with TI MSP430, Arm Cortex M4 (TI, STM) and Nordic nRF5x
• Experience with embedded GUI development / debugging
• Experience with Linux, Android OS, BLE, GIT etc.
