Kronos is looking for an experienced, hands-on software engineer to join our team in Chicago, IL. You will play a key role in the development of our EZCall physician scheduling applications, in a highly collaborative, agile environment. We are looking for a team player with solid Ruby, Ruby on Rails, MySQL and JavaScript experience who is interested in developing their skills and working within a small team of dedicated engineers.

• You will collaborate closely with other members of your scrum team, while designing and implementing sound solutions to your product owner’s use cases.
• Contribute to the definition, elaboration, and execution of your team’s epics and stories.
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code as a contributing member of the team.
• You should have an affinity for, and the ability to, influence and mentor more junior developers in an effort to continuously improve the tools, skills, and processes of the team.


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering
• 3+ years of hands-on development experience including 2 years of experience working with Ruby on Rails development
• Solid MySQL and Javascript experience
• 3+ years working within an agile development team
• Test-driven development experience
• Good communication skills
• Track record of delivering high quality software on time

The ideal candidate will also have the following skills and experience:

• Experience building software in a continuous integration environment
• Experience in SaaS/Cloud application development, including an understanding of security concerns and multi-tenancy
• Experience developing and deploying SaaS applications and services into production.
• Skilled at object-oriented analysis and design
• Database design and optimization skills
• Experience with RabbitMQ message broker
• Experience with Postgres RDBMS
• REACT experience a plus
