The position requires practical hands on knowledge and a thorough understanding of network routing, security architecture. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to…
•Provide production operational support with direct interaction with our Customers
•Support ticket / queue management
•Provide network deployment, configuration, support and upgrades of Firewalls, Load balancers, WAN accelerators, Switches, Routers as well as WAN circuits, MPLS and VPN services
•Manage IP address’ and scopes as well as DNS records
•Performance monitoring and tuning of the environment to achieve high performance
•Support capacity and growth of the environment
•Manage and contain business risk as it pertains to the Cloud network infrastructure
•Assist in the development and implementation of standardized IT practices and procedures
•Collaborate with Corporate IT, Technical Operations, Platform and DBA teams to assess future growth and capacity requirements
•Documentation in the form of basic How to documents, design documentation, Performance and Reporting as well as operational procedures
•Support and work within the ITIL support structure for Change, Problem and Capacity management
•Participate in 24x7 system support rotation and handle escalations in a high pressure environment
•Automate repeatable tasks to achieve consistency, reliability and efficiency of service delivery

Qualifications

•4-year technical degree and 6 years or 10+ years relevant experience working on critical 24x7 networks within large enterprise.
•2 years of experience within a Services Hosting, SaaS, enterprise ECommerce or Cloud environment is required
•Excellent customer service skills
•Thorough understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, OSPF, SIP, MPLS/EVPL, BGP, RIP etc.
•Extensive knowledge of both layer 3 and layer 7 Firewalls and IDS/IPS particularly with Juniper and PaloAlto
•Strong Routing and Switching skills and experience in particular with Juniper
•Proficiency with Network load balancing appliances particularly with F5 devices
•Experience with WAN Acceleration a strong plus
•Experience with business to business VPN setup and support strongly desired
•Ability to communicate effectively emphasizing written and oral presentation skills
•Ability to foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation
•Ability to document both process and procedure as well as existing and new infrastructure
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills and comfortable in global working environment
•Good at building, cultivating team work and mentoring
•Familiarity with ITIL processes would be an advantage
•Familiarity with automation tools such as Python would be an advantage
•Network/Security Certifications (JNCP, JNCIE, JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCIA, JNCSP-ENT) is strongly desired
