Kronos is looking for a Lead Architect to join the Workforce Ready engineering leadership team. This team will be leading the product and engineering organizations to deliver industry best-in-class solutions that are innovative, feature rich, intuitive and lightning fast while scaling to a high volume of concurrent users.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
• Must be capable of regularly contributing to shipping releases (fresh Java coding experience) – building frameworks, features and often creatively solving the most challenging problems.
• Must be able to set, communicate and reinforce technical standards.
• Must be able to take the business requirements coupled with existing architecture to set a technical vision for features and major components and clearly articulate the evolutionary steps to achieve it
• Must be a proven innovator who’s capable of rapid prototyping and who is comfortable pioneering for cross-geography teams
• Must have demonstrated expertise at the front end, middle and DB tiers.
• Able to design SAAS and multi-tenant solutions that scale and perform with rock solid reliability, ability to identify and build-in key application monitoring hooks to allow for optimal management of the solution.
• Capable of working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime.
• Must be capable of providing leadership for junior and senior engineers alike, understands how to leverage and enhance their current skills


• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another relevant engineering field, 15+ years experience with 3+ as an architect
• Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, Java, HTML, Javascript and mobile application development (xCode)
• Previous experience with a SAAS or hosted solutions
• Experience in Human Capital Management (Time and Labor, HR, Payroll) a plus
• Demonstrated success in effectively communicating at all levels of an organization from just out of college engineers to the CEO.
• Demonstrated success quickly learning new systems and being able to apply the same design principles or complementary ones as it makes sense
• Ability to lead through influence and know what data is needed to drive effective decisions.
• Ability to apply different communication and leadership styles for different teams and geographies.
• Able to find the right balance of oversight and freedom to ensure both adherence to technical vision and innovative problem solving.
• Ability to work well and productively, always projecting a positive outlook in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to anticipate roadblocks, diagnose problems and generate effective solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills and sense of purpose, enjoy being part of a team
