We are looking for a senior architect who will work with architecture, business, and technology leadership to manage the embedded technology portfolio underlying Kronos’ flagship, enterprise-scale, cloud-based SaaS offering.

Your primary goal will be to provide product technology vision as well as strategic leadership, responsible for working with the architecture and product management teams to drive selection of embedded technologies, managing technology lifecycle, technical vendor management, and execution of pilot projects to evaluate alternative or strategic technologies. You will be responsible for communicating current and future state, and describing the business and organizational benefits of these technology investments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build and manage a quantitative and qualitative technology governance model, including obsolescence management, security and license management, strategic and market influences, and incorporate business needs
• Develop engagement models with commercial vendors of embedded technology and ensure strategic alignment with vendor roadmaps, deliver on professional services engagements, and execute regular technology/business reviews
• Develop management-level reporting and metrics providing insight into current and future technology portfolio, including risks, opportunities, and threats
• Lead advanced technology research team - responsible for joint architecture and engineering efforts to evaluate new or replacement technologies when necessary to manage to the technology strategy
• Provide regular updates to engineering leads, architects, and senior/executive management on the technology portfolio and strategy
• Work in collaboration with engineering program management to coordinate technology upgrade projects and ensure consistency in SDLC strategy, quality approach, and communication across engineering and support organizations


• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or related field with a prior experience as an architect / senior architect in an enterprise-scale governance role
• 10-12+ years’ experience in hands-on software development, software engineering management, or architecture roles
• Prior experience with technology portfolio management at enterprise scale
• Prior experience with cloud-based / multi-tenant software offerings
• Expert knowledge in at least one major public cloud provider
• Expert knowledge of Java, Scala, Kotlin, Groovy, or other JVM-based language
• Demonstrated experience working in complex, distributed, enterprise-scale development organizations
• Broad, demonstrable knowledge of enterprise software components, including databases, virtualization, containerization, CI/CD, automation
