We are looking for a senior enterprise architect who will work with architecture, business, and technology leadership to develop and refine architecture standards driving in systemwide review, feedback processes, and governance mechanisms - to ensure the sustainability of a globally distributed architecture and engineering practice for Kronos’ flagship, enterprise-scale, cloud-based SaaS offering. This position will require extensive experience with enterprise-scale, cloud-based software, including experience in analyzing and modeling distributed systems with a mix of commercial and open-source technologies.
You will work among a community of architects to drive a common, clear, and accountable approach towards architecture deliverables and processes, as well as drive engineering and SDLC standards and tools to enforce them. You will be in a position to communicate the business impact of this strategy across the organization and drive towards clearly articulated value statements, and measurable return on investment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build architecture governance model for the product engineering organization, including defining and refining consistent architecture practices and deliverables
• Provide leadership to the architecture team and engineering leads on the value of and controls defining architecture governance
• Provide technical and design solutions to systemwide architecture governance needs, such as resource limitations / throttling, resilient design features, multi-user / multi-tenant architecture components, and other critical aspects of a multi-tenant, SaaS architecture
• Develop an architecture framework and corresponding technical program management structure to ensure consistency and compliance of architecture changes through major and minor release cycles
• Manage a small team of architects responsible for governance implementation, systemwide component designs such as resilience, and architectural impact analysis of system changes
• Develop a framework and taxonomy for tracking system components, artifacts, versions, and changes to these architecture components over time
• Manage and conduct systemwide impact reviews to assess the architecture impact of significant service or application changes


• Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• 10-12+ years' of hands-on experience in software development, software engineering management roles including at least 5+ years' Architect experience in an enterprise-scale governance role
• Prior experience with cloud-based / multi-tenant software offerings
• Expert knowledge in at least one major public cloud provider
• Expert knowledge of Java, Scala, Kotlin, Groovy, or other JVM-based language
• Demonstrated experience working in complex, distributed, enterprise-scale development organizations
• Broad, demonstrable knowledge of enterprise software components, including databases, virtualization, containerization, CI/CD, automation
