A subject matter expert must cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including; customers, sales reps and management, services, pre-sales, product managers, strategic partners, and senior staff members. The nature of the position involves actively participating in multiple work-groups at one time and disseminating information across all levels of the organization both internally and externally.

The subject matter expert is articulate and communicates information effectively to diverse audiences. They translate subject matter terminology into business terms, and recommend alternatives to both senior management, sales, services and product management.

The subject matter expert for our state and local business will help drive and manage the relationship(s) with our multiple contract vehicles, identify best practices in procurement, assist with driving value within our state and local business, support the sales organization and partner with the pre-sales organization.

The subject matter expert will share responsibility as the national account manager for our buying vehicles and will have the authority and responsibility to ensure that the Kronos commitments are always maintained. This position is strategic in nature and works directly with the various supplier managers to plan and grow supplier sales through multiple contract vehicles.

The subject matter expert is responsible for helping to drive our go to market strategy for our state and local business. This includes working with our marketing department on various campaigns, conferences and events.

Examples of tasks associated with this role include:
• National coverage with the ability to travel extensively to meet with public agencies and train regional and local salespeople on the programs.
• Becomes the company expert on the various programs and is available 100% of the time as a sales support resource.
• Works directly with the Lead Referral Manager to receive communications concerning new participating public agency registrations.
• Develop the process to analyze, document, and communicate procurement options in each of the states and document best practices related to:
o What contract vehicles do they utilize?
o What are the typical contract issues we face in each of the states and local governments?
o Assist in developing relationships with the procurement department within the states and local government.
• Attendance at public agency industry meetings to help Kronos expand within the Public Sector
• Help streamline the RFP process
o Identify Procurement options
o Facilitate Tracking and RFP compliance
o Analysis of RFP responses
o Conduct post mortems for deals both won and lost
• Work with sales leadership on our go to market strategy for state and local business
• Work with product management and engineering to ensure proper representation of our market needs
• Development of a quarterly newsletter for distribution to the sales team

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience working either for government or with government
• A strong understanding of public sector purchasing and procurement processes.
• A strong understanding of government finance and or government HCM systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ensures timely follow-up
• up to 50% travel expected
