Description

Kronos is seeking a talented Software QA Engineer for our Workforce TeleStaff product. We are looking for a smart, motivated team player that is passionate about quality assurance, testing, and learning new technology. The software QA engineer will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, creating and automating test cases, and measuring and improving the overall quality of our customer facing web application. An advanced understanding of the full SDLC and background in QA is required. The individual in this role will interact with developers, customer support and other groups involved with application development.
• Participate in product backlog grooming, story sizing activities while clarifying acceptance criteria - Create detailed test plans that fully validate feature functionality
• Convert requirements and specifications into written test plans and test cases
• Participate in the effort to automate manual test cases
• Propose technical approaches to testing solutions within the scope of customer requirements
• Perform manual test execution
• Create, review, update and execute automation scripts as required for regression activity for a release
• Work within engineering to define quality process improvements, best practices, and leveraging metrics to ensure QA effectiveness
• Organize and triage defects for development
• Communicate testing priorities and provides support to the Off-shore quality assurance team on a daily basis
• Support production deployment testing and issue resolution
• Support Scrum planning meetings and prepare test strategy for each release period
• Review defects and enhancement requests, follow standard reporting procedures, and ensure enough information is provided to the triage team to make an appropriate assessment.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Software QA Analyst/Engineer on high volume web applications
• Experience working closely with an Off-shore QA team
• 2 years of experience performing all aspects of automation testing
• Experience in web app browser compatibility testing (IE, Chrome, FF)
• Demonstrated QA experience in a highly scalable and reliable web application/platform environment
• Experience writing detailed, thorough test cases, that are clean and efficient automation code, showcasing logic/solution-driven thinking
• Proficient in collecting test metrics and creating comprehensive test summary reports
• Self-directed with ability to work effectively in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
• Experience and knowledge of Selenium automated testing is desired
• Working knowledge of Java - Knowledge of JIRA ticketing system and Git versioning system is a strong plus.
