The Senior Program Manager - Release Management is responsible for driving software product releases within the engineering organization. The role will work across the engineering organization to plan, manage, and drive the execution of multiple releases for an enterprise SaaS product. Works closely with Senior Engineering Leadership including Engineering Directors, Product Line Directors, and others to ensure successful, efficient, and on time releases. This role will be the go to person in the organization that is going to orchestrate and shepherd the flow of software from development to production.

• Take the lead on release management activities and drive release practices and improvements.
• Ability to influence across functional boundaries and across multiple organizational levels to drive results.
• Partner closely with counterparts in Cloud Operations, Development, QA, Product management, and Architecture to ensure the success of their products.
• Develop and communicate strategy, plans, issues and risks effectively throughout the organization
• Develop and track project and release plans for product updates and releases
• Make strategic and tactical recommendations to Senior Engineering Leadership to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
• Closely tracks delivery of requirements from product teams.
• Communicate and plan change management activities involving, schedule, etc
• Creates and delivers presentations, develops communications and communicates to cross-functional audiences both internally and externally.
• Understand and drive best practices into the organization.
• Identifies, develops, and implements tools and metrics to drive project/program and release management success.
• Drives on-going retrospection to foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Software Development Lifecycle and methodologies.
• Exposure to programming and ability to understand basic software architecture concepts.
• 15+ years of program management experience in Software Development.
• 5+ years directly managing software releases
• Strong understanding of project and program management best practices.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, including cross-functional support activities.
• Prior experience working with geographically distributed teams and off-shoring partners .
• Proven ability to influence across functional boundaries and across multiple organizational levels to drive results.
• Proven track record of delivering projects and programs from initiation through implementation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• SaaS product experience
• Project Management (PMP) certification is a preferred.
