UKG is looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our analytics experts team within the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing product development Organization. This position will partner with our Agile development teams to assure smooth integration and deployment of UltiPro software across the entire cloud infrastructure. You will be collaborating with engineers across the organization to research, design, prototype and operationalize solutions, ensuring that they align with Ultimate Software guidelines and industry best practices. In addition, the DevOps Engineer will communicate with and mentor teams on best practices and guidelines regarding the best use of our tooling and services.

• DevOps Engineer will be responsible for deployment automation, simplifying self-service and creating transparency around resource utilization
• DevOps Engineer (automation) will be responsible for analyzing all deployment/infrastructure related to issues in different stack, stabilizing the infra stacks across engineering and for automating the deployments and upgrade related stuff
Additional responsibilities include:
• Build and support automation for deployment of various components of the product ecosystem
• Build and support custom tools that facilitate development and QA teams
• Deployments and working with Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure
• Automating processes using Google API’s with the help of scripting languages (Preferably python)
• Familiarity with Java build tools - Gradle, Ant, Maven
• Exposure in Agile/Scrum methodology with excellent debugging/troubleshooting skills
• Selenium, API testing and understanding RightScale & its configurations related to Google cloud is a plus

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new technologies and be passionate about it is a MUST

• Being a great team player is a MUST
• Strong written and verbal communication skills is a MUST
• Computer Science Degree or equivalent, Software Engineering, IT or a related field is preferred

Additional Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience with deploying apps using Docker/Containers/K8s
• 2+ years of experience working with CI tools like Jenkins/Maven/Teamcity to build pipelines for deployment and infrastructure set up
• Experience with one or more distributed version control/SCM technology and its workflows like git and the understanding of the GitOps/DevOps mindset is a MUST
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
• Experience with configuring and operating artifact and container management tools and repositories like Artifactory/Google Artifact Registry/Amazon Elastic Container Registry is a plus
• Experience developing, deploying and maintaining highly available services at scale is a plus
• Relevant knowledge of OOP design and patterns
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Experience with web technologies utilizing Microservices, SOA patterns and REST is a plus
• Experience in some open source projects is a plus
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL database development and administration including MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, etc. is a plus
• Experience with Message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ) is a plus
• Experience with monitoring and alerting technologies (e.g. Sensu, Grafana, Graphite, Stack driver) is a plus
