AD OPT is looking for dynamic and engaged people to add to the implementation team, who will be working in a fast evolving organization, thriving to deliver world class airline scheduling products, keeping operational research at the heart of its success.

The software developer is responsible for participating in the delivery and implementation of AD OPT products.


This is a very hands-on position where the ideal candidate will work side-by-side with fellow developers to implement products for new or existing customers and ensure high-quality development practices. He/she must respect project deadlines and ensure software quality meets the company’s standards. Excellent communication skills are required, as the position requires close collaboration with fellow developers, Project Managers, Solution Consultants and customers.


The Java Developer Full-Stack:

• Participates in the design, analysis and architecture of solutions.​
• Participates in the development of new features using Java, Hibernate, Spring and other frameworks.
• Performs improvements of existing features.
• Participates in the code review process.
• Performs unit and functional integration testing in an automated testing environment.
• Interacts with Oracle databases.​
•Participates in the writing of technical documents (functional specifications, design documents, etc.​).​
• Estimates requirements for accomplishing development tasks in projects.​
• Provides technical support to both clients and employees.​
• Other related duties as may be assigned.​

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• A minimum of seven (7) years of software development experience.
• Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming in Java 1.7
• Experience with Swing and JavaFX
• Experience with XML, Hibernate, Spring and Joda
• Experience with SQL, JDBC and Eclipse
• Experience with J2EE, HTML, JSP, JAXB, JMS
• Knowledge of Agile development methodology, Scrum and design models
• Experience with JUnit and knowledge of Fit
• Knowledge of Jira and Crucible
• Must be a team player
• Focused on results and clients
• Excellent oral and written communications, in English and French

Pluses:
• Java 1.8
• Experience ReactJS or AngularJS
• Knowledge of Velocity and Struts
• Experience with REST services, an important asset.
