The IT QA Manager will be responsible for the continued growth and evolution of the QA function within IT. Leveraging a combination of hands on experience, industry best practices and pragmatism, the IT QA Manager will evaluate all existing tools and processes leveraged by the QA team across IT and recommend, execute and measure changes aimed at driving efficiency and increased value to the organization. Focus areas include, but are not limited to, functional testing, performance testing, regression testing, test management (e.g. UAT) and test automation. The IT QA Manager will balance day to day execution with mid to long term strategy.
Responsibilities
• Create, socialize and monitor an IT QA team charter
• Manage on- and offshore resources, including capacity planning, staffing and sourcing. Mentor, coach and develop team members to build a high performing team. Perform all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Act as primary escalation point for resource, work assignment, solution and/or technical
• Implement and monitor an overall QA strategy applicable to all areas of IT
• Recommend and implement standard testing tools for test case tracking, requirements traceability and defect tracking
• Ensure standard testing tools are properly supported, maintained and administered
• Working closely with Service Managers, Functional Managers and Release Managers, evaluate QA performance metrics and continuously improve the QA methodology.
• Develop, maintain, improve and enforce policies, procedures and templates that support the QA process. Undertakes internal quality audits.
• Manage and lead test automation initiatives for efficiency improvement, including maintenance of test automation scripts, test frameworks and tools.
• Establishes roles, reporting relationships, and responsibilities within the Quality Assurance Group through collaboration with project/program managers and other service area and functional managers
• Actively participate in the work intake process and effort estimations

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of hands on QA experience in an IT environment with a focus on front and back office applications (e.g. Salesforce, SAP, OEBS, etc)
• 2 to 3 years of management experience
• Significant experience in working with on/offshore teams
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) required.
• Experience with one or more automated strategies and testing tools such as Selenium, HP QTP, or Provar
• Strong project management skills, including detail and task-oriented focus proactive in identifying risk areas
• Strong collaboration skills
• Know when to solve and mitigate risk and know when to escalate
• Ability to discern order out of chaos
