Description
Provides day-to-day technical support for infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment. Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects an may conduct training programs designed to educate an organization's computer users about basic and specialized applications.Responsibilities:
• Monitors the IT Service Desk queue providing 1st and 2nd line support to end users via Phone, Instant Messaging, E-Mail and other methods.
• Installs, maintains and proactively supports IT equipment (Servers, Laptops, Printers, Mobile devices)
• Responsible for creating and installing preconfigured images to Laptops/Desktops
• Act as liaison between users and technical staff to communicate the status of problem resolution to business users; log and track requests for assistance related to IT supported systems
• Assists in the day to day running of the office especially with Facilities related tasks
• Continually aspires to develop and enhance systems and services through experience and self-learning
• Create and distribute network related information to users, such as new account information and distribution list information; as well as, activating and deactivating user accounts
The successful applicant will understand the pressures applied to a busy IT department and demonstrate the ability to react quickly and positively while remaining professional at all times. You will be expected to resolve a wide range of issues through imaginative as well as practical evaluation of identifiable factors. Be able to demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Need to be flexible with regards to working hours as evening and weekend work may be required at short notice and be willing to work at other Kronos locations for periods of time. You will also be expected to work in varied environments and will be required to physically move IT equipment and other manual tasks.
Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience and related work experience.They will have strong technical knowledge in the following areas:
• Microsoft Server and Desktop OS ideally with qualification
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Core network technologies DNS, DHCP, TCP Model, and Active Directory
• Network principles LAN, WAN, Wireless and VPN
• Laptop/Desktop/Server hardware to a component level
• Mobile devices
• Virtualization utilizing VMWare and HyperV
• Understanding of different shared storage concepts
• Previous experience with ITIL Principles
