New leadership opportunity to elevate and manage our global payroll teams and related activities serving over 5,000 employees worldwide. Reporting to the Vice President, this role will provide strategic direction and expertise to the function, ensuring proper and adequate controls and processes, and drive efficiencies and process improvement. The Global Payroll Operations Leader will be responsible for developing our global strategy for payroll processes, technology platforms and service delivery as well as coordinate M&A activities across stakeholders for payroll processes. This role will be responsible for enabling the team to improve business performance and operational effectiveness and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience in payroll at a global organization based in U.S. operating across multiple geographies.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in all countries and ensure payroll services are processed in accordance with established global policies and procedures along with all legislative compliance requirements (including tax and labor laws).
• Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators and SLA metrics for department.
• Develop and monitor internal controls related to payroll.
• Manages projects across multi-disciplinary functions of Payroll, including activities arising from M&A.
• Directs and audits payroll procedures to include earnings, garnishments, tax withholding, and absence processing globally and ensure compliance with organizational procedures.
• Collaborates with Tax Function on all payroll tax related matters and General Accounting related to month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process.

• Partner with Compensation & Benefits, HRIS and Accounting teams to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of reportings, while documenting the policies, processes and controls, and identify and implement improvements.
• Oversees workload and processing structure of department to maximize efficiency and prioritize in accordance with operational requirements/deadlines
• Maintains confidentiality of any payroll, private employee information and any proprietary information and ensures payroll information is secure.
• Identifies and coordinates changes in policy and procedures governed by federal, state and local laws that affect the payroll function.
• Responsible for ensuring annual payroll tax reconciliation is timely and accurate, compliance with filing returns and issuing W-2 forms, and maintaining payroll tax liability account reconciliations
• Develops documentation and trains team on payroll and, payroll tax practices.
• Responsible for working with and evaluating our Partners to help deliver efficient payroll services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting.
• Must have Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP)
• Minimum of 12 years related experience in a large scale global company with international operations is a must, preferred if listed in the U.S.
• Knowledge of Global tax withholding and reporting regulations, payroll tax accounting
• Experience with major Payroll and ERP system required (ADP/ Kronos/ Workday/Netsuite).
• Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively
• Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll systems and payroll tax filings is required.
• Strong leadership skills -Leading, coaching, developing and inspiring a global team – setting team goals, measuring success and communicating achievements.
• Excellent collaboration and written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience meeting and presenting to senior executives.
• Change management experience and ability to facilitate change
