Kronos is looking for a proven Software Engineer with the drive to deliver and support a successful SAAS based product and a passion for Agile best practices. You will play an integral part in the development and support of a brand new, cutting-edge solution that will change the way our users access and interact with their workforce data. We are looking for a customer first attitude and an appreciation for operational excellence.

In this role, you will:
• Work closely with Cloud Operations and Technical Support engineers to triage and troubleshoot high priority, escalated, critical customer issues to restore service per our operational level agreements
• Contribute to software development initiatives including code design and development
• Work closely with developers and QA on the delivery of urgent customer fixes
• Troubleshoot, analyze and solve high visibility, escalated internal and external customer issues by restoring service to our customers
• Interface with development team members and QA to ensure delivery of quality code
• Participate in peer design reviews
• Develop, test and deliver code fixes to urgent customer issues

Qualifications

The following core skills are required for success in this position:
• Bachelor’s Degree in CS or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in back end
• Full stack java based web development: SQL, Java, J2EE, Multi-threading, Spring MVC, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JPA or Hibernate
• Good understanding of Programming concepts, design patterns, OOP, TDD
• Good understanding of REST APIs, and Database design and optimization
• Hands on experience with Java Script, CSS, HTML5 and AngularJS is a plus
• Willingness to expand knowledge across the stack; NodeJS, Redis, NGNIX, Tomcat, Postgres, Cassandra, Spring Framework
• Familiar with Agile development methodologies
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a SAAS environment is a plus
• Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Some experience with automation and an understanding/appreciation as to its benefits
