Description

You will work as part of a development DBA team to provide support to the engineering organization. In this role, you will;
• Work with remote development teams in various geographies
• Review new DB changes to ensure they adhere to standards & best practices
• Provide DBA support for DB environments used by development & QA
• Develop concepts and tools to solve & prevent problems and to increase efficiency
• Work with DevOps team to ensure the successful provisioning & delivery of the DB components of the application to a hosted, cloud environment
• Organize / Structure day to day documentation

Qualifications

• Computer Science or related degree
• 4-7 years of database administration experience
• Experience with RDBMS in a development organization
• PostgreSQL experience, specifically Postgres Plus Advanced Server (PPAS) is a plus
• Knowledge of a DBMS replication technology is desirable.
• Able to communicate effectively with teams across multiple geographies
• Strong SQL skill necessary
• Demonstrated use of one scripting language (e.g. python, shell scripting)
• Good knowledge of good DB design practices, performance tuning, scalability, enterprise system architecture and best practices
• Experience developing for a continuously integrated SaaS hosted, cloud environment
• Experience in both single and multi-tenant environments
