The Director, Engineering will be a transformational member of Kronos’ TOPS team reporting to the Vice President, Engineering. The ideal candidate has proven experience and success in building and delivering enterprise class software/systems, managing globally distributed teams with multiple products & technology platforms, and has strong communication, change management & leadership skills.
This is a great opportunity for the right person to bring their experience, passion and vision to a rapidly growing business and product area that is central to Kronos’ core strategy and direction. In addition, they will bring their knowledge of SaaS and Cloud deployments to the following key responsibilities:
• Lead distributed engineering teams; being responsible for leadership, management, and oversight of development, quality assurance, architecture, and engineering support
• Help define and implement the development methodologies that will achieve availability of these new solutions as quickly as possible, while still ensuring great quality
• Drive the program execution of the software from product definition through successful release and transfer to sustaining engineering
• Lead and reinforce company values and culture in day-to-day behaviors, management style, and expectations of employees
• Engages teams to achieve organizational success and inspire excitement about our vision

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 15 years of overall enterprise level software development experience with 5+ years of experience managing software development teams. Prior Director level experience preferred
• Experience working in a globally distributed environment
• Extensive software engineering development and design experience with complex and highly scalable products using multiple technologies, platforms and languages
• Experience defining & implementing new processes and tools to improve product quality and team productivity
• Strong technical experience in one of the following areas: workforce management applications, analytics, web development, mobile and data collection.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies, values and practices
• Ability to attract top talent and plan for succession; demonstrated success in motivating and cultivating high performing teams and instituting change where needed
• Decisive and effective at issue tracking and resolution
• Demonstrate high intellect, high integrity, positive energy, and the ability to energize others
• Possesses strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills
