The role of Director, Analytics & Data Science is to drive the delivery, adoption and unlock the value from the data that is available within UKG Ready (both customer data and internal data).  This is a unique hands-on role that requires a data science + software engineering background along with the ability to work with the Product Management and Architects to define and execute on the roadmap.  The role also requires leveraging analytics / ML on internal data to unlock insights or predict outcomes.  
More specifically, the primary responsibility of the individual is:
• Driving product and initiative delivery of the Data Science / Analytics teams.  The teams are both based offshore in Europe
• Working with US based Architects and Product Management to drive day-to-day execution and delivery including attending Scrum meetings
• Working with the UKG Cloud team and Ready DevOps / SRE teams to deploy and own the “health” of the solution in production, including support
• Helping the product domain teams to realize customer benefit (e.g., through workshops with Product Managers or customers) through Analytics Platform and to drive more capability adoption across the HCM Suite
• Reviewing / providing input to models/model development 
• The candidate will be hands-on as needed, on all aspects including data science, analytics platform and deployment code (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform).
• Leveraging internal data in tools like Salesforce, JIRA, Service Now and New Relic the candidate will work to: Predict and alert on issues within the production environment, Improve organizational efficiency and customer retention, provide input to the overall customer experience and Identify compliance issues

Qualifications

3+ years' experience as a data scientist or AI specialist with BA/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Machine Learning, Statistics, Data Science or a quantitative field or significant relevant practical experience 
Practical ability to visualize data, communicate meaningful business insights, and utilize them effectively. 
Hands-on experience applying machine learning or AI techniques to real-world data. 
Substantial depth in at least 1-2 machine learning or AI subfields, including but not limited to regression, classification, deep learning, time-series analysis, clustering, automated planning, active learning, NLP, HCI, etc. 
Ability to rapidly develop prototypes in various programming languages, such as Scala, Python, Java, and R. 
Familiarity and comfort with SQL and relational databases. Knowledge of NoSQL database technologies. 
Must be an effective communicator, making complex concepts accessible to all stakeholders. 
Hands-on experience building and delivering analytics & data science solutions on cloud platforms Experience with statistical programming and data visualization
Experience working with both traditional SaaS platforms as well as exposure to cloud native services is desirable
Proven ability to apply to provide business solutions
Experience working with and comfortable with highly distributed, remote teams
Hands-on experience in model development and deployment
Experience with GCP is a plus
