Kronos is seeking a Data Scientist with Natural Language Processing (NLP) experience to work within our Advanced Research Group. The role includes both implementing cutting-edge AI solutions as well as "generating ideas": proposing new research efforts to gain new and unforeseen insights from workforce data! This position allows remote flexibility and will sit in our Lowell, MA. headquarters.


• Work with domain experts to perform analyze workforce management data, identify meaningful business opportunities, and guide solution implementations
• Apply natural language processing / understanding techniques to text in the workforce management domain
• Rapidly prototype NLP and AI solutions including question answering, classification, and information retrieval systems to turn data into action
• Apply deep learning and AI algorithms to structured data and build models models that can be applied to the workforce management domain
• Implement Data Science methodologies at scale over large datasets
• Communicate insights and findings to internal and external stakeholders
• Enjoy working and learning in a fast paced and rapidly evolving environment


• MS or PhD in Computer Science/Machine Learning, Statistics, Data Science or a quantitative field
• Experience building natural language processing/understanding systems including experience with question answering, text classification, entity recognition and linking, text normalization, and information retrieval.
• Familiarity with modern deep learning methods for natural language processing and other neural-network based representations for both text and structured data.
• Substantial depth in at least 1-2 other machine learning or AI subfields, including but not limited to regression, classification, deep learning, time-series analysis, clustering, automated planning, active learning, HCI, etc.
• Hands-on experience applying machine learning or AI techniques to real-world data
• Ability to rapidly develop prototypes in various programming languages, such as Python, Java, and Scala.
• Must be an effective communicator, making complex concepts accessible to all stakeholders.

More senior-level or more junior-level candidates will also be considered.
