Kronos is looking for a proven Software Engineer IV with the drive to deliver and support a successful SAAS based product and a passion for Agile best practices. You will play an integral part in the development and support of a brand new, cutting-edge solution that will change the way our users access and interact with their workforce data. We are looking for a customer first attitude and an appreciation for operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
• Work with your engineering peers on the development and delivery of critical customer defects
• Work closely with Cloud Operations and Technical Support engineers to triage and troubleshoot high priority, escalated, critical customer issues to restore service per our operational level agreements. Subsequently, with your engineering counterparts you will be expected to develop actions plans to repair services inclusive of configuration and code changes.
• Lead software development initiatives, develop code, and consult with developers and QA on the delivery of urgent customer fixes.
The individual in this role will have the following responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, analyze and solve high visibility, escalated internal and external customer issues by restoring service to our customers
• Develop, test and deliver code fixes to urgent customer issues
• Interface with development team members and QA to ensure delivery of quality code
• Create designs and participate in peer design reviews
• Provide mentorship and assistance with issue resolution and software design and development to fellow team members
• Knowledge of and ability to provide consultative support of our APIs
• Audit of customer configurations preproduction, integrations and workflows


The following core skills are required for success in this position:
• Bachelor’s Degree in CS or applicable field of study
• 8+ years of hands-on development experience
• Significant experience in Java
• Experience in Java Script, CSS, and HTML5 is a plus. Hands on experience
with AngularJS is a plus
• Understanding RESTful APIs
• Willingness to expand knowledge across the stack; NodeJS, Redis, NGNIX, Tomcat, Postgres, Cassandra, Spring Framework
• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a SAAS environment
• Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to act as a facilitator
• Experience with automation and an understanding/appreciation as to its benefits
