UKG is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in the management, growth and support of our private and public Cloud’s Infrastructure Services. These services are built upon Wintel and Linux/Open stack platforms. Technologies leveraged at UKG include Windows Server 2012-2019, Ubuntu, VMWare, Dell and Solid Fire. This position will be part of our award winning Cloud Infrastructure and Delivery team working in an operational capacity and supporting environments hosted in data centers within the U.S. and Canada. Primary responsibilities of this role include analyzing and resolving critical infrastructure and application issues, including those that are performance and capacity related as well as provisioning servers and storage in alignment with our constant growth. This position is demanding and plays an integral role in the success of our organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
• Provision and configuration of new virtual servers; operating in VCenter and via automated provisioning tools and scripts
• Perform root cause analysis on critical incidents and events with servers and networks and provide technical support (for virtual and non-virtual environments)
• Analyze data including various logs, traffic trace and complex configuration data
• Monitor cloud environments by setting up alerts, reviewing error logs and analyzing user traffic patterns
• Plan server upgrades, migrations, builds and other changes in production and development environments
• Perform in-depth trend analysis of system and application events
• Provide after-hours support and escalation for our client base
• Perform post-change product functionality testing
• Troubleshoot application and infrastructure related incidents
• Regularly interface with peer teams on support and projects
• Maintain an accurate inventory of existing server software, hardware and virtual environments to provide details on available resource capacity for current and future projects
• Provide documentation for system deployment
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Execute planned changes
• Provide capacity analysis and participate in performance testing
• Execute automated tasks via scripting; including remediation and testing
• Problem analysis and remediation in a fast paced, customer-centric environment
• Position occasionally requires after hours work and weekends (flexible schedule)
• Works under minimal supervision


Required Qualifications/Skills:
• 5+ years’ experience supporting Windows Server in an enterprise environment
• 3+ years experience supporting Active Directory
• 5+ years’ experience supporting Linux
• 5+ years’ experience working with virtualization: performance tuning, capacity management, design, administration and configuration
• 3+ years’ experience with various storage platforms; Netapp, Solid Fire, Tintri, etc.
• 3+ years’ experience managing and supporting high availability systems
• 1+ years experience supporting Citrix
• Understanding of networking, networking concepts, hardware, hardware concepts, storage and storage concepts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Passionate about learning new technologies and platforms

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Familiarity with MS SQL, MySQL, etc.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby, PowerShell, PowerCLI
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-As-Code practices and concepts
• Familiarity with SRE and DevOps principles and concepts
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Apache, NGINX, and HAProxy
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g. Docker)
• Experience with open source technologies and concepts
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) applications (Open Stack, vSphere, Amazon Web Services, etc.) is a plus
