Cloud Engineers in Foundations SRE are hybrid software/system engineers (DevOps) that have a breadth of knowledge encompassing all aspects of service delivery. This position requires excellent technical expertise, in-depth knowledge supporting critical application infrastructures, their associated processes and protocols, excellent communication skills and the ability to work on parallel projects.
The Cloud Engineers in this role will be supporting services and automation running in containerized and virtualized environments (e.g. OpenStack or GCP) through automation tools (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform) and improve observability (e.g. ELK, Grafana) to quantify the customer experience into integrate actions across the services.

Essential Duties:
• Collaborate within SRE team to meet and maintain customer expectations for reliability
• Automate application configuration management
• Communicate information across the organization
• Engage and improve throughout the entire service lifecycle: inception and design, deployment, operation, and optimization
• Proactively automate services based on data from measuring and monitoring
• Sustainably scale and evolve systems through automation improvements for reliability and velocity

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
• Significant experience with cloud based, containerized, or virtualized services
• Some formal education (boot camp) in Computer Science, Software Development, Web Development, or equivalent work experience

Desired Qualifications:
• Engineering degree, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Microsoft and Linux Technologies
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of distributed applications (servers, load balancers, storage, messaging, monitoring, etc.)
• Experience with operating systems and TCP/IP network fundamentals
• Ability and willingness to work evenings / nights on occasion.
• Ability and willingness to lead and work in projects
