AD OPT, 90 employees in Montreal is looking for a software development manager for its new offices, located at 5250 Décarie Boulevard, # 500 (Snowdon metro line).
The candidate will be part of a leading team developing software for major international airlines for workforce management and scheduling. The candidate will report directly to the Director Core Engineering and Product Management.

• Lead one or more teams of experienced software developers to create high quality software products (currently 7 developers & 2 QA under direct supervision, all located in the office at 5250 Décarie Boulevard)
• Lead the Agile software development process (Scrum)
• Ensure the effectiveness of the project team and its evolution towards complete autonomy through coaching and collaboration with the Scrum team
• Work closely with the Director of Engineering, the Chief of QA and the Operational Research Architect to plan and deliver high quality software development projects on time, and to collectively assume responsibility for the development of the project. technical excellence of solutions
• Manage all phases of multiple projects run by local and remote teams
• Implement best practices in software development
• Understand the technical implications of problems and barriers, and provide effective guidance
• Collaborate effectively with other teams in different geographic regions to ensure organizational success and remove barriers
• Recruit new employees and ensure employee improvement, progression and training through mentoring and learning initiatives
• Be part of a creative culture in which people accept change and innovation
• Knowing how to work directly with customers on complex product scenarios.


• 3 to 5 years of experience in a software development management position
• Academic Background in Operation Research field, a strong asset
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience in software development
• Experience in creating a large enterprise product for multiple clients
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience
• Experience in cloud computing, preferably in multilevel architecture
• Must have run several projects from beginning to end
• Must have experience in an Agile (Scrum) environment
• Must be able to solve various, complex and ambiguous situations and problems
• You have a dynamic personality, excellent interpersonal skills, are a good networker, facilitator, have a sense of initiative and are motivated
• Bilingual English-French.
