We are looking for a bilingual Java architect in our AD OPT division: this is a new position and the main goal of our new Java architect - Google Cloud will be in the mid / long term to redesign and merge our three main softwares (Altitude Pairing, Altitude Rostering, Altitude Insight) in one on a modular architecture designed for local deployments or public clouds such as Google.
You will report directly to our Director - Product Development , and will work closely with Product Development Managers to launch this ambitious project!

This new position within the organization is key to achieving the company's ambitions, so any work done in the different mandates will have a high visibility with senior management.

The architect will obtain the organizational commitment for all systems and software plans, evaluate and select all the technologies needed to complete his plans. In addition, the architect provides technical leadership throughout the organization, from strategic decision making to project planning.

The candidate will have to be able to rally the different members of the development teams by his technical leadership, his ability to coach his developers, his dynamism, but also to consolidate the good practices that have been implemented up to now while making them evolve: based on observations and internal experiences.

The position is "hands-on": it is expected that the architect also participates in the implementation of certain software components.


COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to develop strategic systems architecture plans in close collaboration with product managers and business analysts;
• Knowledge of current software, protocols and system standards, including database design, data modeling, implementation, integration and performance optimization;
• Knowledge of several legacy and state-of-the-art programming languages and design principles such as REST or SOA architecture;
• Ability to work with development frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.) and J2EE technologies such as JSP, Java Server Faces, JMS, JCA, JAAS, EJB and also Spring Boot, ReactJS, AngularJS ...;
• Knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices;
• Knowledge of applicable standards and laws regarding performance, reliability, security and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• French/English bilingual (required)
• University degree in Computer Science / Engineering or Information Systems (Master's degree preferred);
• Seven or more years of professional experience at increasingly higher levels of responsibility, developing a software product experience that addresses high availability and scalability;
• Proven experience and success in designing Java web applications;
• Experience with two or more of the following: React, Angular 2+, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, JS Node, Typescript, Bootstrap, SASS / Less, Hapi / Koa / Express;
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment;
• Ability to travel if necessary internationally (max 10% - 2 or 3 weeks / year): our customers are airlines all over the world!
