BI & DW Analyst
Description
UKG is looking for talented System Analyst to work with our Product Development teams in building the next generation of data warehouse and Business Intelligence products.We are looking for a system analyst to implement and improve our products and platforms within the Data Domain. You will analyze system and technical requirements and address any relevant problems. You will also perform technical troubleshooting and provide solutions to ensure high levels of performance and security.
As a system analyst, you will be joining a team of engineers and developers who are passionate about new IT systems, software development and different programming languages. If you are also interested in discovering and implementing new features, we would like to meet you.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)Understand and document technical requirements related to Data Warehousing (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI)
Represent the needs of Engineering to communicate and prioritize technical analysis in various projects such as: Migrating customer data, data validation process and reporting, parallel test automation, and managing test and production tenants.
Ensure that automation tools are developed in a way that maximizes reuse across products
Work with Engineering and SaaS teams to anticipate and manage technical risks associated with the introduction and deployment of automation
Make recommendations to teams developing new BW/BI products to create awareness around migration needs
Trouble shoot customer escalations and partner with BI/DW Engineering and other teams as needed for resolution
Analyze data contained in the corporate databases and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions.
Produce technical documentation for new and existing BI/DW applications.
Examine and evaluate current BI/DW systems
Identify technical requirements
Document interfaces between BI/DW systems and other applications
Collaborate with Business Analysts and developers to produce specifications for new BI/DW systems
Ensure deadline and budget requirements are met
Stay up-to-date with current BI/DW technologies and technical developments
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Strong Database knowledge and skills (SQL)
Strong Business Intelligence skills
Experience with Logical and physical Data Modeling for DW/BI applications
Experience with cloud software hosting / deployment
Experience managing BI/DW environments in roles such as System/Application Administrator or DBA
Software QA methodologies
Experience working in an Agile env like Kanban/Scrum
Experience creating technical stories for the platform or tools using JIRA
Strong task management, analysis and time management
Understanding of object oriented programming languages like JAVA or C#
Understanding of enterprise software development frameworks
Understanding of relational and NoSQL database systems such as SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL).
Understanding of public cloud data warehouse technology platforms such as Google Big Query and Snowflake
Knowledge of microservices architecture
Knowledge of streaming applications and messaging solutions
Knowledge of Public cloud services, preferably GCP
Knowledge of DevOps, CI CD methodologies
Proven work experience as a system analyst
Hands on experience with software development and documentation
Solid knowledge of business information systems
Ability to explain technical details
Excellent analytical skills
A good problem-solving attitude
Self-motivated, continuous improvement mindset and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done
Experience with, or understanding of, Agile/Lean Software Development practices such as Kanban or Scrum
Ability to manage and balance multiple deliverables concurrently in an environment with shifting priorities
