UKG is a leading provider of strategic HR, payroll, and talent management solutions for organizations of all sizes. We are currently seeking an energetic, analytical, highly detail-oriented individual to work on the Mindful AI team within the Product Development department. The preferred candidate must be able to help lead our team in designing and developing the next generation of AI applications using microservices in technologies such as Java, Python, and GCP. Some of the primary responsibilities include mentoring team members, monitoring processes, conducting quality audits, and other duties assigned by the Manager. This role is critical for the ongoing support of team goals and improving performance efficiencies. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. At times, the Tech Lead might be asked to work on a variety of complicated initiatives requiring considerable judgement.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Mentor developers on the team, fostering an environment of continued learning and improvement.
• Empower the team to deliver quality software in a timely manner and continuously improve the development process.
• Build and maintain strong peer relationships within the team and across the organization.
• Enjoy working in a collaborative environment with a diverse group of people partnering effectively with the team members, partners, and customers.
• Implementation of architectural and technical designs for complex features.
• Responsible for maximizing the maintainability and extensibility of the solutions.
• Research, design, test, and evaluate technologies for the Mindful AI suite of applications.
• Evaluate, recommend, and proposed solutions to existing systems.
• Write high-quality code, that is supported by an appropriate level of testing and metrics.
• Develop system documentation, technical user guides, technical how to videos, user how to videos, policies, procedures and guidelines for team members and business users.
• Assist and adhere to enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.

Requirements:
• 10+ years engaging and working with cross-functional enterprise level software development projects using Agile development methodologies and leading team of 3-5 developers.
• Experience with, or understanding of, Agile/Lean Software Development practices such as Kanban or Scrum.
• Proven recent experience as Senior Java(Spring) and Python Engineer or similar role.
• Knowledge and experience implementing microservices architecture using Kubernetes, Docker, and public cloud deployment platforms, specifically GCP.
• Experience with testing tools such as xUnit, PyTest, mocking frameworks, etc.
• Strong experience working with continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
• Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
• We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, with 2+ years of experience with many of the following software/tools:
o Experience with GCP tools: DataFlow (Beam), Pub/Sub, BigTable, BigQuery, FireStore, DataProc, Composer(Airflow), etc.
o Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and MySQL.
o Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, Kubeflow, etc.
o Experience with stream-processing systems: Kafka, Apache Beam, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.
o Experience with object-oriented/functional scripting languages: Python, Java, Scala, etc.
• Experience with Google AI Platform a plus.
